A series of interesting activities were organized during Mathematics Week from 22 April 2024 to 26 April 2024. Students could enjoy the fun of mathematics and improve their mathematical abilities by joining various games and challenges.
Senior and Junior Form Mathematics Q&A competitions were held on the first and second day of Mathematics Week respectively. These competitions were designed to test students’ mathematical knowledge, skills, and calculation speed. Each student should use an electronic device to do ten math questions, ranging from basic to challenging questions, on Quizizz. The student in each class who completed the fastest and answered the most questions correctly would win a prize at the end. It helps students consolidate their mathematical knowledge as well as improve their problem-solving speed and accuracy.
During lunchtime in Mathematics week, students could go to Cheong Lap Hall to participate in a bunch of incredible and challenging mathematical games, including Rummikub, number puzzles, Tower of Hanoi, IQ puzzles, IQ tests, etc. We hope to increase students' interest in learning mathematics through engaging in these funny games. In the meanwhile, it is an extraordinary opportunity to enhance students’ logical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
In conclusion, students could participate in different activities based on their interests and abilities during Mathematics Week. By demonstrating the application of mathematics in daily life and engaging in interactive and practical activities, we hope that students will not only foster a positive attitude towards mathematics but also develop logical reasoning, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
