Ho Fung College (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen) held its annual Speech Day on May 25, 2024, to honor the accomplishments of its graduating students. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Kenneth Hui, Executive Director (External) of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
As a distinguished alumnus of the school, Mr. Hui delivered the keynote address, sharing his personal experiences and insights. He emphasized the importance of developing strong interpersonal communication skills, overcoming anxiety, and engaging in diverse conversations. Notably, he shared the "power pose" technique - standing with hands on waists, chest up and chin up for two minutes before an important event - as a way to positively influence self-perception and behavior. Mr. Hui also advised the graduates to make rational, fact-based decisions rather than being swayed by media bias. His inspirational words encouraged the graduates to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.
In his welcome speech, School Supervisor and Director of Sik Sik Yuen Board of Directors, Dr. Kwong Man Hang reinforced this sentiment, telling graduates, "Opportunities are given to those who are prepared. Rewarded are the diligent; blessed are the righteous."
After the award ceremony, Anna Wu from Class 6C spoke on behalf of the graduates to express their profound gratitude. She conveyed their heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support and guidance provided by the School, Principal, parents, and teachers throughout their academic journey.
The ceremony concluded on a heartwarming note, as the school's recorder group and string quartet performed, spreading well-wishes to the graduates, guests, and parents in attendance.
