Students' Dress Code and Appropriate Demeanor
- Female Students
- Hair
- Should be groomed and washed frequently to keep it clean and tidy.
- The fringe should not exceed eyebrow length.
- Should be tied up in a ponytail or two plaits when exceeding shoulder length.
- Should be tied up using only black hairpins or cotton / elastic ponytail holders.
- Should not be permed.
- Should not be dyed. (Unless to be dyed black)
- Should not be applied with hair spray, foam, clay, gel or wax, etc.
- Uniform
- General requirements
- Uniform should be frequently washed to keep it clean and tidy.
- The waist belt should be properly worn.
- The summer dress and winter pinafore should not be shorter than three cm above the lower knee.
- The summer dress and winter pinafore should be without pleats.
- White underwear and slips should be worn.
- High-heel shoes and fashionable pointed shoes are forbidden.
- Uniforms of other school organizations can be worn on the day for regular meetings or activities.
- Summer uniform
- Should wear plain white socks.
- Should not wear silk stockings. (Should apply for approval to the Disciplinary teachers if it is necessary.)
- PE uniform should not be worn unless during PE lessons or sports activities.
- Plain black leather shoes should be worn unless during PE lessons or sports activities.
- Winter uniform
- Should wear proper winter uniform, including green school blazer bearing school logo, grey pinafore with school logo, school tie, plain white blouse, grey knee-length stockings and plain black leather shoes.
- Grey cardigans or V-neck woolen sweaters of appropriate length can be worn to keep warm.
- Winter PE tracksuit and white sports shoes should be worn on the day with PE lessons.
- If necessary, female students can wear skin-colored silk stockings.
- If necessary, students can wear a grey woolen scarf.
- Only when the Observatory issues a cold weather warning, can students wear the following: dark-colored woolen gloves, dark blue cotton-wadded jackets (which should be buttoned up), dark blue or black down anoraks or winter PE tracksuit.
- The school tie should be worn properly.
- Ornaments
- Bracelets, necklaces, rings, earrings or ear-needles, etc. are forbidden.
- Upon parents’ request, wearing only a pair of small bead-like golden or silver ear studs is acceptable.
- Multiple earrings on each ear are prohibited.
- Necklaces are forbidden unless with the approval of the Disciplinary master of the written application of the parents concerned. The pendant (if any) should not be exposed.
- Only authorized badges can be worn.
- All accessories, such as glasses, watches, schoolbags, etc., should be plain and modest.
- Cosmetics
All cosmetics are forbidden.
- Male Students
- Hair / beard / moustache
- Should be groomed and washed frequently to keep it clean and tidy.
- The fringe should not exceed eyebrow length.
- Should not be permed.
- Should not be dyed. (Unless to be dyed black)
- The hair at the back should not touch the collar of the shirt.
- The sideburns should not exceed the middle of the ear in length.
- Should not be applied with hair spray, foam, clay, gel or wax, etc.
- Keeping beard or moustache is not allowed.
- Uniform
- General requirements
- Plain white shirt without a button-down collar should be worn.
- School logo should be properly sewn on the shirt in both summer and winter uniforms.
- The white shirt should be properly tucked in at the waist.
- A plain, black leather belt about 2.5 cm wide should be worn at the waist.
- The trousers should have straight pockets (except rear pockets), straight-legs (should not be boot-cut or bell-bottom), and the legs should not be too tight or too loose.
- Only plain, white socks of medium length should be worn.
- Black lace-up leather shoes should be worn.
- High-heel shoes and fashionable pointed shoes are forbidden.
- Uniforms of other school organizations can be worn on the day for regular meetings or activities.
- Summer uniform
- Students should not roll up their sleeves.
- Students should wear white undershirts.
- Students should button up their shirt except the collar button.
- Winter uniform
- Should wear proper winter uniform, including green school blazer bearing school logo, plain white shirt with school logo, school tie, grey trousers, white socks and black leather shoes.
- Grey cardigans or V-neck woolen sweaters of appropriate length can be worn to keep warm.
- Winter PE tracksuit and white sports shoes should be worn on the day with PE lessons.

- Not only should students comply with the school dress code, they should also pay heed to personal hygiene, such as keeping their fingernails, clothing, footwear and other accessories clean.

- The Dress Code will be implemented according to the Disciplinary Committee’s interpretation.
