On 19 November 2025, 20 students from Secondary 1 to Secondary 4 participated in a meaningful cultural exchange through a hands-on Swiss cooking class led by Mirabelle, the exchange student of this school year. The session provided students with an opportunity to prepare Älplermagronen, a traditional pasta dish in Switzerland, where Mirabelle comes from. A ‘side dish’ of the class was learning a few basic Swiss German phrases.
This activity not only introduced students to Swiss cuisine, but also fostered intercultural understanding, communication, and collaboration. By combining cooking with language learning, students experienced how food and culture are deeply connected.
The event was a valuable occasion for students to broaden their horizons, appreciate cultural diversity, and develop practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.
