On 14th December, 2024, Sik Sik Yuen organised an event titled‘Seeking Wisdom in Wong Tai Sin Temple’for its five secondary schools. This joint-school activity was the first of its kind to introduce Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism using English as the medium of communication.
The event featured a comprehensive guided tour, allowing participating students to immerse themselves in the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the Wong Tai Sin Temple. They gained a profound understanding of the Wong Tai Sin belief and customs, which were inscribed onto the fourth national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014.
Following the tour, Mr. Yiu Ka Tung, Vice Chairman of Sik Sik Yuen and Chairman of the Education Committee, delivered an enlightening talk titled‘Bringing Wisdom of Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism to Life.’Mr. Yiu shared invaluable insights on how Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism could be seamlessly integrated into daily life, offering practical wisdom and guidance.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of these important philosophies among the students. It highlighted the importance of cultural heritage and the relevance of ancient wisdom in contemporary life, inspiring participants to embrace and apply these teachings in their own lives.
