A wonderful line-up of events was organised during English Week from 25 January 2024 to 31 January 2024.
On the first day, S1 students attended a debate workshop conducted by Mr. Dunlea, our NET teacher. After grasping some concepts, the students were put into groups to share their opinions for or against the motion, “Computers should replace teachers”.

On 26 January, our iconic activity, the Games Day, was held. Games stalls of different themes were set up and hosted by students. Many students enjoyed playing the games in the game stalls while others were keen on playing Scrabble. In addition to our students, students from Ho Shun Primary School were invited to attend the activity. All participants practised English in a natural and relaxing context.

On the third day, our NET teacher conducted a talk, “Where on earth is Mr Dunlea from?”. He introduced his home country, Ireland to the audience interactively. Teachers and students learnt some Irish and were engaged in the fantastic talk.

Meanwhile, English Society organised various competitions including Poem Recitation Competition, Storytelling Competition, Inter-class Competition-English Challenge, Public Speaking Competition and Duologue Competition. Students made use of the chance to showcase their English skills and abilities. Contestants and the audience participated in the activities with great enthusiasm.
